Brushstrokes offers the creation of beautiful and inspirational images as a service to Amateur and professional Photographers and Models. Services include: 

• creation of stunning original digital artwork from photographs, including specialist paint effects
• photo restoration and re-compositing
• breathing a professional new look into poor quality, damaged and badly processed images (e.g. shaky mobile phone images, historical photos etc.)
• professional photography without the need for a studio
• a range of creative and spectacular images available as prints, canvases and gifts

Photography

Nik works in a variety of ways, over and above his personal projects:

• with photographers to provide image processing on existing photos
• with models and would-be models to produce portfolio images, including the option to have them hosted and available for sale
• drastically improving the quality of small, damaged, shaky, noisy or otherwise low-quality images using professional software and techniques

Nik often undertakes image work for aspiring or amateur models who do not yet have professional photos. We can work to improve the look and quality of your home-made photos and even host them in your own professional gallery to sell online (example).  

Painting

The whole ethos of Brushstrok.es is to take wonderful pictures and infuse them with expression and magic.

Nik is a photographer, artist, graphic design, musician, writer and all round creative energy source - or in Nik's own words: "an imagineer". The only other place where you can get a real job as an imagineer is, of course, Disney. 

Nik's beautiful paintings are lovingly hand-created using the latest state-of-the-art digital painting and illustration system to not only recreate the texture and intensity of traditional natural mediums, but to create entirely new mediums and effects otherwise impossible (such as combining watercolours and oils). It's the best of the photographer's studio and the artist's studio brought together to create delicious imagery.

 

These are not ordinary images: although we live in a world surrounded by manipulated images, Nik's are a world apart from images created using photoshop actions and automatic painting software - no matter how sophisticated such systems claim to be.

Brushstrok.es images contain all the texture and detail of the source medium, be it fine bristle brushwork, sponge, chalk, pastel, pencil, ink, water, impasto, and so on. Your painting can be in any medium and style from Felt-Tip-Marker to Mud!

When examined close up, the detail in Nik's paintings is simply breathtaking and when printed on canvas creates a piece of artwork that will not only be cherished for years, but become an instant over-dinner talking point.

Why the name Brushstrok.es?

Beautiful art speaks to you, directly, often with childlike simplicity.

This is one of the facets Nik wanted to convey in his logo and domain name. The two had to match of course. What better then, than a domain name that does-what-it-says-on-the-tin? Literally all you need to do is type brushstrok.es into the address bar of your browser. Beautifully simple, like the artwork itself. For the technically minded who want to know how it works - it's a Spanish web address; they all end in ".es".
